Terms of Service

Article 1 (Scope)

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using the app “Phone Guardian” (Japanese title: スマホの番人; the “App”) provided by PELLICULE (“we/us”), and apply to everyone who uses the App (“users”).

Article 2 (What the App does)

The App blocks, on your device, connections to nuisance ads and to scam or fake-alert sites. Blocking is based on a list (filter) that we maintain, and the App does not guarantee that every ad or dangerous site will be blocked.

Article 3 (Fees)

After the free trial period ends, a one-time purchase is required to continue using the App. The purchase is tied to your Google account; one purchase covers phone upgrades and your other devices (separate Google accounts each require their own purchase). Prices and details follow what is shown in the App and in the app store (such as Google Play). As this is a one-time purchase, there are no monthly or annual fees and no auto-renewal. When the free trial ends, the blocking feature stops until the purchase is completed. Due to the nature of digital content, refunds for change of mind after purchase are not accepted. The free-trial record is registered on our server only when the App is used within Japan; outside Japan it is kept solely on your device.

Article 4 (Prohibited conduct)

Users must not copy, modify, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the App, expand their entitlements by improper means, or otherwise act in violation of law or public order and morals.

Article 5 (Disclaimer)

We are not liable for damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the App, except in cases of our intent or gross negligence. If the App causes a problem with a particular connection, it can be resolved by stopping the guard.

Article 6 (Changes to or termination of the service)

We may change or terminate the App with prior notice to users.

Article 7 (Changes to these Terms)

We may amend these Terms when necessary. Important changes will be announced on this page and in the App.

Article 8 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute concerning the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction, in the first instance, of the court having jurisdiction over our place of business.
